The International Symposium on Humidity and Moisture has been a relevant forum for the discussion of research, developments and applications in the field of humidity and moisture measurement since 1963. The first and second symposia were held in the US in 1963 and 1985. The third symposium was held in the UK in 1998 and the fourth was held in Taiwan in 2002. All previous symposia were very successful and provided a program of high quality to the participants. The programs contributed immensely to the development of the humidity and moisture measurement science and technology.

For the first time in South America, the fifth symposium will be held in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 2006. This event will bring together scientists, researchers, engineers and others from all over the world interested in this subject.
