Scope: Scientific and Industrial Metrology provided tools for technological growth and innovation, by fostering competitiveness and creating a favorable environment for scientific and industrial development. Every major country has its own metrology institute to support companies in increasing their productivity and the quality of their goods and services. The fast development of nanotube science and applications urges studies on metrology, standardization and industrial quality control. Development of protocols for the definition of sample parameters like composition, purity, stability, homogeneity, dispersability, structural metrics are important for both research and applications of nanotubes.

 

Objective: To open a dialog among the international scientists, companies and investors interested on nanotube science and technology, focused on the metrological issues important for technological growth and innovation. This exchange should help the community to find and solve the important problems for speeding the technological revolution based on nanotubes.

 

Structure of the Meeting: This first workshop will be a satellite meeting of the "Eighth International Conference of the Science and Application of Nanotubes - NT07", that will take place in Ouro Preto, MG, Brazil, from 24 to 29 June 2007 (www.nt07.org). The program will be composed by conference talks and round tables for the discussion of the important questions about nanotube metrology and technology.

 

This meeting will also share the atmosphere with the NT07 satellite meting, the "Computational Challenges and Tools for Nanotubes - CCTN07" (www.tokyo.rist.or.jp/CCTN07/index.html), that will be happening at the neighboring room, at the same time. You could jump from one room to the other and meet your colleagues during coffee break and lunch.
