The General Coordination for Accreditation (Cgcre) is the accreditation body of conformity assessment bodies recognized by the Brazilian Government.

The Decree no. 6,275, of 28th November 2007, establishes that it is the competence of the General Coordination for Accreditation (Cgcre) to act as the accreditation body of conformity assessment bodies. Therefore, inside the organizational structure of Inmetro, Cgcre is the major organizational unit that has full responsibility and authority over all the aspects concerning accreditation, including accreditation decisions.
