World Accreditation Day and Conformity Assessment Body Meeting

On June 8 and 9, 2011, the III Conformity Assessment Body Meeting (Enoac) and the World Accreditation Day were celebrated, respectively.

During the World Accreditation Day, the National Accreditation Award was launched, whose regulation can be found at http://www.inmetro.gov.br/credenciamento/pdf/regulamento-1-premio-nacional-acreditacao-2011.pdf

Technical Cooperation between Cgcre and IAAC

Since 2002, when Cgcre (General Coordination for Accreditation of Inmetro), the Brazilian accreditation body, received its recognition from IAAC as an accreditation body for laboratories and quality management system certification bodies, it began to offer technical cooperation to IAAC members. In the beginning, it received visits from representatives from many IAAC countries throughout the year. To manage the program more effectively, it was decided to concentrate the visits during two weeks in the month of September.

The technical cooperation program involves visits to every Cgcre division, training courses on a specific subject, and observation of a real assessment, depending on participants' interest. The divisions of Cgcre that accept observers are: Division of Accreditation of Certification Bodies (Dicor), which is in charge of the execution of activities linked to the accreditation of certification bodies; Laboratory Accreditation Division (Dicla), responsible for the activities for laboratory accreditation; Division of Accreditation of Inspection Bodies (Diois), in charge of the execution of the accreditation of inspection bodies; Division for the Development of Accreditation Programs (Didac), in charge of the analysis of new accreditation demands and of keeping the international recognition agreements; and the Division of Qualification & Training on Accreditation (Dicap), in charge of the qualification and training of assessors and experts.

The person in charge of the organization of Technical Cooperations is Andrea Melo, who can be contacted to clarify any doubts (amelo@inmetro.gov.br).
